Getting them settled and focused

Sometimes it’s easy to forget the little things you do that have become a regular and relied-upon instrument in your teaching took kit; this morning whilst reading @danwilliams1984’s blog post http://teachingutensils.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/the-20-word-challenge-appetiser-for.html?m=1 about 20word challenges I was reminded of the strategy I use regularly with classes to help calm, settle and focus them for my lesson.
